Kim Kardashian Is Not Pleased with Instagram’s User Agreement

Kim Kardashian tweeted her displeasure after learning that the photo-sharing site Instagram, of which she is a prolific user, could potentially use her likeness in future advertising.

“I really loved Instagram,” she wrote on December 18, 2012. “I need to review this new policy. I don’t think its fair.”

With more than 5.7 million followers, Ms. Kardashian is the most-followed user on the network — even more popular than singer Justin Bieber.

TMZ followed up with an interview with her friends, who all said the reality star was considering leaving the app altogether if she didn’t get some answers.

Kardashian, who has appeared in commercials for brands like Carl’s Jr. and Skechers, is not likely to give away her famous face for free. She once sued Old Navy for confusing her fans with a TV commercial look-alike.

Instagram has already assured users that their photographs are not going to be used as a stock photography service for advertisers.

But as the newly acquired company begins to incorporate advertising into its service, Instagram will need to accomodate celebrities and brands, who would likely follow a different set of guidelines than the average user.
