Pinterest recently deepened its Twitter integration, allowing photos shared on Pinterest to be viewed within the Twitter stream. The move came just a few days before Instagram’s decision to pull support for in-stream display on Twitter. Wired That’s right, from now on, you’ll be able to see shared pins on Twitter without going to pinterest.com or a Pinterest app. Social media manager and Pinterest power user Kelly Lieberman first noticed the changes. Mashable/The Daily Dot A spokesperson confirmed that Pinterest added Cards support early last week. The one difference: Pins don’t appear to show up in Twitter’s “recent images” sidebar, as Instagram photos used to. WebProNews As Twitter and Instagram continue to beef, Pinterest is making a move that shows it’s not worried about losing visitors to its site. Expanded, media-rich tweets are a great addition to Twitter, and the more social media sites that allow for integration, the better it is for users. VentureBeat Twitter and Pinterest certainly worked together on the integration, but that may be only because of how Twitter Cards is currently structured. Companies interested in employing Cards go through a formal approval process that requires Twitter to review the implementation before it goes live.

HootSuite Adds Three Business-Focused Apps (SocialTimes)
HootSuite has added three new apps — from Nimble, StockTwits and YUPIQ — to its social media app directory, the company announced on Tuesday. The new additions bring the total to 44 third-party applications that HootSuite has integrated in recent months to allow clients to further customize their dashboards. CMSWire Customer relationship management tool Nimble is the first in this area for the App Directory and is targeted at salespeople and customer service staff. The company said that the app allows one-dimensional social profiles to become multi-dimensional contact records with access to history and context, viewable from the HootSuite dashboard. AllFacebook HootSuite CEO Ryan Holmes said: “Social media is moving beyond the early adoption by marketing and community managers to the rest of a company’s customer-facing business professionals. Sales, service, and support teams will benefit greatly by utilizing social media to enable customer engagement and social selling, and close deals easier than ever before.” AllTwitter In related news, Hootsuite’s Holiday Command Center can offer insight into how many people are tweeting about the holidays, and their sentiment about the holidays and their shopping experiences. With Christmas two weeks away, Facebook announced Tuesday that its Gifts feature has been rolled out to all of its users in the United States. The social network also added a reminder in its announcement that Gifts can be used to make charitable contributions to its nonprofit partners, including Blue Star Families, Girls Inc., DonorsChoose.org, and, starting today, the Robin Hood Foundation‘s Hurricane Sandy relief efforts.

According to GazeMetrix, an early stage image-recognition startup that helps brands track where their logos are being photographed across social media, Starbucks earns bragging rights for being the most-Instagrammed brand that the company tracks. Runners-up are Coca-Cola, BMW, Monster Energy, Google and Corona.

According to the project’s website, “On December 12th, 12.12.12., across the planet, documentary filmmakers, students, and other inspired citizens will record the human experience over a 24-hour period and contribute their voice to the third annual global day of media creation called One Day On Earth. Together, we will create a shared archive and a film.”

Join One Day On Earth & Film Life Around The Globe Tomorrow, 12/12/12

One Day On Earth, the collaborative film project that documented life on earth on 10/10/10 and 11/11/11, is revving up to film life around the globe tomorrow, 12/12/12, and it’s not too late to be a part of it!

According to the project’s website, “On December 12th, 12.12.12., across the planet, documentary filmmakers, students, and other inspired citizens will record the human experience over a 24-hour period and contribute their voice to the third annual global day of media creation called One Day On Earth.  Together, we will create a shared archive and a film.”

Want to get involved in the project?  The rules are pretty simple: You can start shooting at 12:01 AM (your local time) on Wednesday, 12/12/12, and may shoot footage at any time during that 24-hour period.  Shoot footage on your camera or on your iPhone, using Vyclone.  A partnership with Vyclone lets you automatically upload and geo-locate your footage to One Day On Earth’s archive.

At the beginning of your footage, state your name and country, the time of day, subject you are filming and location.  Note that One Day On Earth has provided the following suggested theme: “What do you have? What do you need?”

One Day On Earth Releases Amazing Music Video Cut From Footage From Around The Globe

Back in November of 2010, on 10.10.10, filmmakers from all over the world shot footage for a documentary project called One Day On Earth.  The footage has been cut into a documentary film, which will screen in every country in the world on April 22, 2012.  In anticipation, One Day On Earth has released an amazing music video that was created entirely from the footage submitted on 10.10.10.

One Day On Earth To Film Life In Every Country This Friday 11-11-11

One Day On Earth, an online community with the unique mission of helping document the World’s Story, will be filming in every country in the world this Friday, 11/11/11, for the second time.  Last year on 10/10/10 they did the same thing, shooting footage everywhere on earth on a single day to edit together into a documentary film in order to create a better perspective of our global community through video.  The feature film from 10/10/10 will be screened in every country of the world in late February 2012 along with hundreds of short films shot on 11/11/11 and it’s not too late to get involved!
